From an early age, Dr. Jerry aspired to pursue a career in education. Growing up in Texas, he witnessed firsthand the profound impact of teachers on the lives of his peers and the community. After graduating high school, Gibson enrolled at East Texas Baptist University, where he completed his undergraduate studies in 1993. He later pursued further education and earned a Master's in Education from Lamar University in 2002.
Driven by a thirst for knowledge and a desire to make a substantial difference in education, Jerry continued his academic journey at the University of Houston. In 2015, he obtained a doctorate in Educational Leadership, equipping him with the expertise and skills necessary for his current leadership role. During his time at the university, he had the opportunity to connect with numerous aspiring educators, fostering invaluable professional and personal relationships within the education field across Texas and the rest of the nation.
After attaining his education, Jerry set out to secure a teaching and coaching position within a top school district in Texas. Through determination and perseverance, he succeeded in finding a role that allowed him to merge his passion for academics and athletics. In the early stages of his career, Dr. Gibson held various positions, including teacher, head coach, athletic director, assistant principal, and eventually a full-time principal. As time progressed, he recognized that his true calling lay in school administration, as it provided him with the platform to effect substantial change in his community and the local education system.
